Gulbahar Cement was established to provide high-quality cement products and innovative solutions in the construction industry. Founded in 2023, GC is the largest cement manufacturer in Afghanistan, offering high-quality cement for residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects using the best raw materials and advanced technologies.

The project includes investment in the extraction of raw materials and cement production, and will provide direct employment opportunities for more than 5,000 people. Production capacity in the first phase is 4,000 tons per day; in the second phase it will be 8,000 tons per day, for a total of 12,000 tons per day.

Operations

Key plant components

1. Raw material preparation

Limestone quarry as the main feedstock; crushers to reduce rock size; raw material storage for limestone, clay, gypsum, and additives; raw mill grinding raw materials into fine powder (raw meal).

2. Clinker production system

Preheater tower heating raw meal before the kiln; rotary kiln as the main furnace where raw meal is burned to clinker at around 1,450°C; clinker cooler reducing temperature after the kiln exit.

3. Cement grinding section

Cement mill grinding clinker with gypsum and additives into cement; separators controlling fineness of the cement powder.

4. Storage and handling

Clinker silos for produced clinker; cement silos for finished cement; conveyors and elevators moving materials between process sections.

5. Packing and dispatch

Packing plant for bagged cement (typically 25 kg or 50 kg); bulk loading into trucks or tankers; dedicated truck loading station.

6. Utilities and supporting systems

Power supply and power plant; water supply; dust collection (bag filters and electrostatic precipitators) for environmental control; laboratory and quality control; control room with automation.

7. Infrastructure

Access roads and transport; maintenance workshop; administrative offices; worker facilities.
